Attorney James Brown Jr. of Bedford, TX; ethical dwarf

The state of Texas presented James Malcolm Brown Jr. with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from Southern Methodist University Law School.

The District 7-A Grievance Committee found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Knowingly violated rules or assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another, whether such violation occurred during a client-lawyer relationship
  • Entered into improper business transaction with client
  • Failed to provide client with opportunity to seek independent counsel prior to entering into a business transaction with Jimmy

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Jimmy.

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Jimmy practices at 1909 Central Drive in Bedford, Texas.
