Attorney Peter Speers III of Austin, TX; ethical elf

The state of Texas presented Peter C. Speers with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from the University of Texas Law School.

The District 3-A Grievance Committee found Pete guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to respond to numerous client phone calls
  • Failed to return client file upon termination
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Peter!)
  • Failed to explain the matters to the extent necessary to permit his clients to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to safeguard client funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Pete by gifting him with a complimentary 21-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2017), Pete practices at 3915 Sierra Drive, Texas.
