Attorney Kenneth Shepherd of Fort Washington, MD; ethical elf

The state of District of Columbia provided Kenneth H. Shepherd with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from Georgetown University Law School.

The D.C. Court of Appeals found Kenny guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to notify court of intention to withdraw from client representation
• Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
• Failed to appear scheduled prehearing conference
• Failed to advise client of intent to withdraw
• Failed to seek or obtain court permission to withdraw
• Client case dismissed due to Kenny’s failure to appear at prehearing conference

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the D.C. Court of Appeals punished Kenny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
