Attorney Charles Henderson of Birmingham, AL; indicted for perjury

The state of Alabama provided Charles Todd Henderson with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the Birmingham School of Law.

Charlie is the elected District Attorney for Jefferson County, Alabama.

In one matter, Charlie was prohibited from taking office because he was indicted for perjury in mid-January 2017. The indictment states he made a false statement under oath in a divorce case in September 2016.

The perjury took place while Charlie was employed as guardian ad litem in a divorce case but was removed in May 2016 due to allegations that he was biased against the father. Additionally, it was alleged that Charlie was involved in a romantic relationship with the mother involved in the divorce case who had worked on his election campaign.

Jim Parkman, attorney for Charlie said he wasn’t involved in a relationship with the mother while he was guardian ad litem. Parkman went on to admit that Charlie’s romantic relationship with the mother began a couple of months after he was removed as guardian ad litem. Attorney Jim Parkman missed his calling as a standup comedian.

All that remains now is to see how long it takes before Charlie cops a plea.

As we speak (March 2017), Charlie practices with the Law Offices of Charles Todd Henderson in Birmingham, Alabama.
