Attorney Ilija Cvetich of Sacramento, CA; guilty of forgery

The state of California provided Ilija Cvetich with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of Pacific McGeorge Law School.

The California State Bar found Ilija guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Forged client’s signature on settlement document
  • Forged client’s signature on $5,232.42 settlement check
  • Failed to notify client of receipt of client settlement funds
  • Failed to promptly pay settlement funds to client
  • Failed to maintain client funds in client trust account
  • Dishonestly or grossly negligently misappropriated (stole) for Ilija’s own purposes $10,474.22 that Ilija’s client was entitled to receive
  • Committed willful act involving dishonesty or corruption

As consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Ilija by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the California State Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Andy.

Because Attorney Misfits in California are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Ilija was never criminally prosecuted for forgery.

As we speak (ca. July 2017), Ilija practices with the Law Office of Ilija Cvetich at 3465 American River Drive in Sacramento, California.
