Attorney James Simmons of Los Angeles; scofflaw, serial offender

The state of California provided James Michael Simmons with a law license in 1992 after she graduated from the Peoples College of Law in Los Angeles.

Peoples is a 4th tier unaccredited school that takes in loser that couldn’t get accepted at mainstream schools like UCLA, UC Davis, Stanford or the University of San Francisco.  

The California State Bar found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

Jimmy’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Engaged in the illegal practice of law while license suspended

As consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the California State Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Jimmy.

Jimmy’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to comply with probation conditions in prior disciplinary case
• Failed to submit three quarterly reports
• Filed three quarterly reports late
• Failed to submit proof he attended ethics school (So what?)

As consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.

Jimmy’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to comply with probation conditions
• Submitted required probation affidavit late
• Probation affidavit rejected as vague and ambiguous and raised questions about compliance with terms of probation
• Failed to report if he had notified all clients of his suspension
• Failed to advise State Bar if he refunded unearned fees
• Second affidavit of compliance with probation terms rejected because it raised more questions

As consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the California State Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Jimmy.
