Attorney Venancio Padilla of the Philippines; ethical gremlin

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Venancio B. Padilla with a law license in 1965 after he graduated from the University of Santo Tomas Law School.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines found Vennie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to file appellate brief on behalf of clients
  • Negligence led to client appeal being dismissed by Court of Appeal
  • Failed to keep client informed of developments in their case
  • Failed to participate in continuing legal education programs
  • Failed to respond to client information requests
  • Neglected a legal matter entrusted to him
  • Engaged in unprofessional conduct

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Philippine Supreme Court punished Vennie by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2017), Vennie practices with the Padilla Padilla Bautista Law Offices in Lalique, Pangasinan, Philippines.
