Attorney Michael Williamson of Goldsboro, NC; check bouncer

The state of North Carolina presented Michael S. Williamson with a law license in 1995.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Failed to maintain entrusted funds in trust account
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Wrote checks on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Failed to perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations of trust accounts
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to promptly deliver funds owing to clients or third parties
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Betrayed vital client trust

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the North Carolina State Bar punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in North Carolina are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Mike was never criminally charged with writing bad checks.

As we speak (ca. February 2017) Mike practices at 1311 South Slocumb Street in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
