Attorney Susan Arkun of New York City; serial criminal

The state of New York presented Suzie Arkun with a law license in 1990 after she graduated from the Fordham University Law School.

The Departmental Disciplinary Committee found Suzie guilty of the following misconduct.

After engaging in a brief affair with a married man, Suzie began leaving voice-mail messages on her paramour's cell and work telephones, and called his home to speak with his wife. The calls went on for several months. Suzie also showed up uninvited at her paramour's place of business and at other social events that he attended.

Subsequently, Suzie was arrested and charged with one count of stalking in the fourth degree; 4 counts of aggravated harassment in the second degree; and two counts of harassment in the second degree. An order of protection was issued directing her to stay away from her paramour and refrain from any contact or communication with him or his wife.

Despite the order of protection, which Suzie signed in acknowledgment, she continued to call and harass her paramour. Thus, she was arrested and charged with four counts of criminal contempt in the second degree, one count of aggravated harassment in the second degree, and one count of stalking in the fourth degree.

Following a bench trial in Criminal Court, New York County, Suzie was convicted of two counts of stalking in the fourth degree; four counts of attempted aggravated harassment in the second degree, and four counts of attempted criminal contempt in the second degree. She was sentenced to a one-year term of probation, a six-month dialectical behavior treatment program and a two-year order of protection directing her to refrain from any contact or communication with her paramour and his family.

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Departmental Disciplinary Committee punished Susan by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. February 2017), Susan practices at 328 East 14th Street in New York, New York.
