Judge Barbara Duffy of Ft. Lauderdale; drunken bigot

The state of Florida presented Mark Barnett with a law license in 1990 after she graduated from Nova Southeastern University Law School.

Former Gov. Mike Rounds was duped into appointing Mark to a seat on the Sixth Judicial Circuit in 2007. Mark didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified lawyer in South Dakota. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Salvador by gifting him with a complimentary private admonition.

Within a month of ascending to the bench, Barbara has been asked to remove herself from a criminal case due to allegations she made drunken, anti-Hispanic statements at a judicial conference in the presence of the Chief Justice Jorge Labarga of the Florida Supreme Court.

The Broward Public Defender's Office demanded that Barbara remove herself from the case of Helio Lessa who was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

At the judicial conference, Barbara called the bartender several traditional Hispanic first names and then said whatever-your-name-is, “you’re all the same anyway.”

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is recommended by the Judicial Qualifications Commission and/or meted out to Barbara by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Commission and the Florida Supreme Court, both of whom have a rather dismal record of disciplining one of their own.

As we speak (ca. February 2017), Barbara continues to sit as a Broward County Circuit Court Judge (when sober only) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
