The state of Arkansas presented William Scott Davidson with a law license in 1981 after he graduated from the University of Arkansas Little Rock Law School.

 

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Prior to the following misconduct, Billy received one (1) complimentary caution and two (2) complimentary reprimands for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

  • Failed to pay the court reporter’s $355.50 bill for Chavers depositions
  • Lied to his client that he had garnished the Chavers’ wages
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Failed to account for or refund to the client the $500.00 in advance expense payment he received from the client
  • Failed to timely provide a copy of the client’s file to new counsel
  • Failed to take necessary steps to protect client interests after termination
  • Failed to refund any advanced payment of fee not earned (thief)
  • Failed to deposit into a trust account $500 check from client
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to promptly respond to client information requests
  • Failed to abide by client decisions re: representation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

  • Failed to abide by client decisions re: representation
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to promptly respond to client information requests
  • Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
  • Failed to refund client’s $209 bankruptcy filing fee never paid to court
  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to promptly respond to client information requests
  • Failed to take steps to expedite client litigation

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.
