Judge Randall Rogers of Tyler, TX; Judge Roy Bean Wannabee

The state of Texas presented Randall Lee Rogers with a law license in 2007 after she graduated from Texas Tech University Law School.

FYIJudge Roy Bean was an infamous Justice of the Peace and saloon owner in Texas who called himself the "The Law West of the Pecos." Roy was also affectionately referred to as the Hanging Judge.

The State Commission on Judicial Conduct (SCJC) found Randy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Josten Bundy appeared in Randy’s courtroom after being charged with and pleading guilty to punching his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend.

After his guilty plea, Randy told Mr. Bundy that he had the choice between marrying his girlfriend or spending 15 days in jail. Randy’s illegal sentence also required Bundy to write out Proverbs 26:26, "If a man digs a pit, he will fall into it," 25 times a day.

Because of Randy’s threat of imprisonment, Bundy and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Jaynes, feared that the jail sentence would cause Bundy to lose his job, so they got married within the 30-day window they were given by the Randy.

The couple said that Randy the Enforcer would not allow them to first ask Bundy's employer for permission to take the jail time. Elizabeth said:

  • "It just felt like we weren't going to be able to have the wedding we wanted.”
  • “It was just going to be kind of pieced together, I didn't even have a white dress."

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Salvador by gifting him with a complimentary private admonition.

As we speak (ca. January 2017), Moseley continues to sit as a Smith County judge in Tyler, Texas.
