Attorney Jose Gonzales of Harlingen, TX; ethical elf

The state of Texas presented Jose Gonzales with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from Texas Southern University School of Law.

The District 12 Grievance Committee found Jose guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Jose!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jose by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Jose.
