The state of Tennessee provided Terry Renease Clayton with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from Howard University Law School.

The Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility Terry guilty of the following misconduct.

Terry’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Client’s case dismissed without for failure to appear
• Failed to advise client case dismissed for about six (6) months

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Terry by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

Terry’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Engaged in improper fee arrangement with another lawyer
• Neglected client’s bankruptcy filing
• Failed to provide competent representation (Dumbo)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Terry by gifting him with a complimentary 1-month suspension of his law license
