Attorney Gilbert Fleming of Boulder, CO; scamming loser

The state of California provided Gilbert Bruce Fleming with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from the University of California Davis Law School.

The California State Bar found Gil guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Gil found it acceptable to induce his wife to sign a certification as a witness and to falsely attest that she had seen a client place an “X” on a document in lieu of a signature.

Gil represented an elderly woman who was in poor health and unable to physically sign her name. He was hired by the woman’s children to draft a special needs trust and help the woman obtain Medi-Cal benefits. The woman placed an X on the signature line of a power of attorney document. Gil notarized the document and attached a false certification that he and his wife signed, saying they witnessed the client write the X.

As consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Gil by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

Because California Attorney Misfits are held to a lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Gil was never criminally prosecuted for falsification or fraud.

As we speak (ca. January 2017), Gil practices with Holland & Hart at 1800 Broadway Street in Boulder, Colorado.
