Attorney A. David Courtade of Fort Worth; ethical misfit

The state of Texas presented A. David Courtade with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from Baylor University Law School.

An evidentiary panel of the District 7 Grievance Committee found Dave guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Dave appeared for a district court hearing in Louisiana on behalf of a client without having a license to practice law in Louisiana or obtaining permission to appear in court pro hac vice.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Dave by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Dave

As we speak (ca. January 2017), Dave practices in Fort Worth, Texas.
