Judge Anthony Peters of Georgia; Il Duce Wannabee and ethically hobbled

Judge Anthony Peters sits as a Catoosa County Judge in Dalton, Georgia which is about 90 miles north of Atlanta. FYI: Il Duce is none other than the late degenerate-dictator Benito Mussolini.

Recently, the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission lodged an ethics complaint against Judge Peters that contained 13 counts of misconduct, some of which are as follows.
  • Smoking left-handed cigarettes (aka, marry-wanna)
  • During a television interview he joked about teenagers using drugs
  • Abusing his power as a judge
  • In Feb 2009, Il Duce abused his judicial position in trying to get several people arrested during a confrontation at a family member’s home
  • Peters also accused of pointing a gun to his head while in Magistrate Vick Wells’ office and saying to the judge and others in the room, “I’m not scared, are you?” (Unfortunately, the gun allegedly misfired!)
On June 26, 2010 and in an effort to document the fact that Judge Peters was nuts, three other magistrates asked Judge Gass to use a camera – hidden in a pen – to record the upcoming conversation with Peters. (Chattanooga Times Free Press) The video shows the following:

Chief Judge Caldwell telling Judge Peters he must work a special night shift, which Peters refuses to do
Judge Caldwell raises his voice, points at Peters and says, “I’m putting you on administrative leave”
Peters says that Judge Caldwell didn’t have the right to do that
Judge Caldwell told a clerk to push the “panic button,” a silent alarm to summon the police

Within minutes, local and state police arrived, handcuffed the Dishonorable Anthony “Il Duce” Peters and forced him to leave.

An evidentiary hearing was held on April 14, 2011 before the Judicial Commission regarding Il Duce’s egregious misconduct. Now all we have to do is wait and see if the Commission members have the courage to remove this buffoon from the bench.
