Attorney Timothy Champion of Akron; fraudster

The state of Ohio presented Timothy Harman Champion with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of Akron Law School. 

Disciplinary Counsel found Timmy guilty of the following misconduct.

1. Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
2. Repeatedly lied to Akron Tax Department that he had paid $544 in delinquent taxes
3. Submitted fraudulent copy of check to Tax Department falsely claiming payment of taxes

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Timmy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

Because Ohio Attorney Misfits are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Timmy was never criminally charged with fraud.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Timmy.
