Attorney James Sustaita of Austin; ethical misfit

The state of Texas provided James Stephen Sustaita with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from Texas Southern University Law School.

The District 9 Grievance Committee found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected client’s legal matter
  • Repeatedly failed to respond to client information requests
  • Failed to return paperwork to DA on client’s behalf
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Jimmy!)

As consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Jimmy.

As we speak (ca. December 2016), Jimmy practices at 1301 Nueces in Austin, Texas.
