Wisconsin Sen. Scott Fitzgerald: Today’s Rodney Dangerfield Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Wisconsin Sen. Scott Fitzgerald
Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

As you’ll see below, Sen. Scott Fitzgerald is an embarrassment to all hardworking and diligent comedians.

After Scotty led the state Senate into passing a union busting bill that was later signed by Gov. Walker, union members filed a lawsuit seeking an injunction from implementation of the law.

Shortly thereafter, Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi issued an injunction prohibiting the implementation of the law until all legal issues raised by the plaintiffs were addressed.

In a lame attempt at levity, Scott Fitzgerald had the chutzpah to attack Judge Sumi’s injunctive order by stating, “Her action today again flies in the face of the separation of powers between the three branches of government.”

According to this certified Dufus, the separation of powers prohibits any court, including the US Supreme Court from intervening to declare a law unconstitutional. Obviously, Scotty missed his calling as a standup comedian.

If Rodney’s statement were true, then the courts would be prohibited from passing judgment on any of the following laws passed by Scotty and those of his ilk.
  • All African-Americans must ride in the back of the bus
  • It will be a capitol (death sentence) offense for Doctors performing abortions
  • It will be a 1st degree felony for anyone attempting to organize a union
Isn’t it nice to know that Scotty is the Senate Majority leader in Wisconsin? Must make all Wisconsinites very proud to have this Dufus representing their interests, right?

Congrats Scott; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as an aspiring standup comedian; you are far too humble.
