Solicitor Gerard Durkan of Scotland; ethical gremlin

The Law Society presented Gerard Durkan with a law license in 1990.

The Scottish Solicitors’ Discipline Tribunal found Gerry guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in unsatisfactory professional conduct
  • Failed to issue terms of business letter to client for work undertaken on her behalf regarding transfer of title of her home
  • Misconduct visited upon a vulnerable client
  • Failed to act in best interests of client
  • Continued with title transfer after services terminated
  • Improper contact with represented person

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Discipline Tribunal punished Gerry by gifting him with a complimentary censure and a £1,500 ($1,863) fine.

As we speak (ca. December 2016), Gerry practices with Frederick & Co. Solicitors Limited at 19 Sandyford Place in Glasgow, Scotland.
