Attorney Heather Schaefer of Plano, TX; ethical dwarf

The state of Minnesota presented Heather Ann Badgett Schaefer with a law license in 2000 after she graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Law School.

The District Grievance Committee found Heather guilty of the following misconduct.

• Neglected legal matter entrusted to her
• Failed to carry out completely obligations owed to clients
• Failed to keep clients informed of status of legal matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to explain a matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit the client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
• Failed to take steps to protect client interests upon termination
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Heather!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Heather by gifting her with a complimentary 3-month suspension of her law license. 

As we speak (ca. November 2016) Heather practices in Plano, Texas.
