Judge Thomas Kraus of Waseca, MN; ethical gremlin

The state of Minnesota presented Thomas J. Kraus with a law license in 1983.

The Minnesota Office of Lawyer Regulation has found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Failed account for use of client funds
  • Used improper agreement for an advanced flat fee
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Made return of client’s file contingent on pay of fee
  • Authorized legal to assistant to improperly notarize affidavit
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2016), Tommy practices in Waseca, Minnesota.
