Attorney Bruce Tackowiak of Huntington Park, CA; liar, repeat offender

The state of California provided Bruce Joseph Tackowiak with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from the University of San Diego Law School.

The California State Bar Court found Bruce guilty of the following misconduct.

Bruce’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

• Failed to file motion to set aside default judgment on client’s behalf despite being paid $5,000
• Failed to respond to numerous calls from client
• Failed to advise client of status of legal matter
• Failed to refund unearned fees of $5,000
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Bruce!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Bruce by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.  

Bruce’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

In one matter, Bruce falsely declared under penalty of perjury that he had had a telephone conversation with a State Bar investigator. The false declaration was part of a motion to vacate default in State Bar Court in a prior disciplinary matter.

Because Attorney Misfits in California are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Bruce wasn’t criminally charged with perjury.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the supporters for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Bruce by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
