Attorney Bonnie O’Neal of Jamestown, NC; thieving slacker

The state of North Carolina presented Bonnie Lee O’Neal with a law license in 1998.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

• Misconduct involved multiple offenses
• Failed to refund unearned advance fee upon termination
• Failed to participate in good faith in fee dispute resolution
• Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
• Collected a clearly excessive fee (thief)
• Failed to explain matter to the extent reasonably necessary to permit client to make an informed decision regarding the representation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter

As a direct consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Bonnie by gifting her with a complimentary 1-year suspension of her law license.

As we speak (ca. November 2016) Johnny practices with at 6174 Thacker Dairy Road in Whitsett, North Carolina.
