Attorney Michael Duffy of Newfoundland, CAN; ethical elf

The Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador presented Michael H. Duffy with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from Dalhousie University Law School.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Disciplinary Committee found Mike guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to comply with trust account rules
• Failed to comply with rules respecting conflicts of interests with clients
• Failed to respect outside interest in conjunction with practice of law
• Failed to comply with rule regarding lawyer as an advocate

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Upper Law Society Committee punished Mike by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. 

As we speak (ca. October 2016), Mike practices with the Duffy Law Office at 640 Torbay Road in St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada.
