Attorney A. Douglas Moores of Newfoundland, CAN; ethical elf

The Law Society of Newfoundland and Labrador presented A. Douglas Moores with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Dalhousie University Law School.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Disciplinary Committee found Doug guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Misconduct involved in at least eleven (11) real estate transactions in which there were indicators of potential mortgage fraud
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Failed to exercise responsibility when requests were made for credits against the purchase prices of various properties

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Upper Law Society Committee punished Doug by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2016), Doug practices with Moores & Collins at Main Highway in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, Canada.
