Attorney Maria Gonzalez of Chandler, AZ; scofflaw

The state of Arizona presented Scott Allan Maasen with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.

The Arizona State Bar found Maria guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Converted (stole) client funds to personal use
  • Lied to medical lien creditor re: settlement offer
  • Wrote numerous checks on insufficient funds account (rubber)
  • Failed to maintain accurate client ledgers
  • Failed to conduct three way monthly reconciliations
  • Failed to comply with trust account guidelines
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Knowingly violated duty owed to clients
  • Caused actual harm to be visited upon her clients

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders of Attorney Misfits sitting on the Arizona Supreme Court punished Maria by gifting her with a complimentary 6-month suspension of her law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Arizona are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Maria was never criminal charged with writing bad checks.

As we speak (ca. October 2016), Maria practices with The Gonzalez Law Firm PLLC at 290 West Chandler Heights Road in Chandler, Arizona.
