Attorney Carey Scott of Corona Del Mar, CA; ethical gremlin

The state of California provided Carey Brent Scott with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Pacific McGeorge Law School in Sacramento.

The California State Bar Court found Carey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Filed four consecutive lawsuits against same defendants despite the fact that each of them had previously been dismissed in favor of the defendants
  • Court awarded $218,299 in sanctions v. Carey to the defendants involved in his multiple lawsuits
  • Filed sham lawsuit against trial judge claiming he was biased, which was summarily dismissed by a federal district court judge in Los Angeles
  • Defendants recovered $130,000 of the $218,299 sanction prior to Carey filing for bankruptcy
  • Acted with intentional gross negligence

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Carey by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. October 2016) Carey practices at 311A Marigold Avenue in Corona Del Mar, California, which is located in Los Angeles County.
