Attorney Bettye Barnard of Inglewood, CA; idiot, repeat offender

The state of California provided Betty Jewel Barnard with a law license in 1975 after she graduated from Southwestern University Law School.

The California State Bar Court found Bettye guilty of the following misconduct.

Bettye’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to appear at hearing on client’s behalf
• Improperly withdrew from employment
• Failed to perform legal services competently (idiot)

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Bettye by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Bar Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Bettye.

• Failed to provide accounting to client
• Failed to refund unearned fee (thief)
• Failed to serve client’s husband in divorce matter
• Client spent $300 to have husband served but Bettye never filed the proof of service with the court
• Never returned client phone calls or letters
• Failed to perform legal services competently (idiot)
• Failed to respond to client status inquiries
• Improperly withdrew from employment

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Bar Court punished Bettye by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 30-day suspension of her law license.
