Deputy DA Patricia LaFrance of Brentwood, NH; ethical dwarf

The state of Connecticut presented Patricia LaFrance with a law license in 1996 after she graduated from the New England School of Law.

Judge N. William Delker found Patty guilty of the following prosecutorial misconduct.

  • Violated several court orders to return cell phones to litigants
  • Engaged in gross negligence
  • Failed to inform opposing counsel of intention to seek relief in Superior Court
  • Knowingly violated a court rule
  • Engaged in prosecutorial overreach

In a lame effort at levity, Patty defended her misconduct in failing to abide by court rules by saying she misinterpreted a court rule on whether she could seek reconsideration of a judge’s order to return cell phones to three litigants. Obviously, Patty missed her calling as a standup comedian.

As a consequence of her misconduct, Judge Delker entered an order of censure against Patty.

As we speak (ca. September 2016) Patty continues to be employed as a Rockingham County Deputy Attorney in Brentwood, New Hampshire.
