Attorney David Sample of Rock Hill, SC; ethical leprechaun

The state of South Carolina presented David B. Sample with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

The Statewide Grievance Committee found Christian guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Dave!)
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed about status of matter
  • Failed to comply with client information requests
  • Failed to take steps to protect client’s interest upon termination
  • Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Knowingly disobeyed obligations under rules of tribunal
  • Failed to respond to notice of investigation
  • Entered into an agreement for, charged, or collected an unreasonable fee or an unreasonable amount for expenses
  • Willfully failed to comply with decision of Resolution of Fee Disputes Board
  • Failed to promptly deliver to third person funds person entitled to receive
  • Failed to keep separate disputed funds

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Statewide Grievance Committee punished Christian by gifting him with a complimentary 9-month suspension of his law license, which means his license will be reinstated in November 2016.

As we speak (ca. September 2016) Dave practices at 621 Deberry Hollow in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
