Judge Christina Mennemeyer of Troy, MO; Judge Roy Bean Wannabee

FYI: Judge Roy Bean was an infamous Justice of the Peace and saloon owner in Texas who called himself the "The Law West of the Pecos." Roy was also affectionately referred to as the Hanging Judge.

The state of Missouri presented Christina Kunza Mennemeyer with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School.

The Judicial Commission found Judge Mennemeyer guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Improperly delayed defendants’ cases for months
  • Tried to coerce and intimidate public defenders
  • Delays of defendants caused some to incur unnecessary room and board charges of $45 a day
  • Engaged in an oppressive abuse of power
  • Engaged in an obvious denial of due process
  • Delayed cases beyond deadline for public defenders to seek a change of judge
  • Subverted defendants’ constitutional right to a lawyer
  • Delayed nine cases between 60 and 79 days
  • Appeals court opinions ordered people released from prison in cases where Judge Mennemeyer illegal ordered that they be imprisoned
  • Murder conviction overturned because Judge Mennemeyer refused to allow the defendant’s lawyers to present evidence of another possible suspect (re-trial ended with acquittal)

As a consequence of her egregious misconduct, the Patron Saints for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission has recommended that Mennemeyer be gifted gifting with a complimentary 6-month suspension from the bench.

All that remains now is to see if the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Missouri Supreme Court agree with their enablers on the Judicial Commission and provide Mennemeyer with a 6-month suspension.

As we speak (ca. September 2016) Mennemeyer Continues to sit as a Lincoln County Judge in Troy, Missouri.
