Attorney Ronald Cooley of Hillsborough, NC; thief, repeat offender

 

The state of North Arkansas provided Ronald E. Cooley with a law license in 2000 after she graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School.

 

The Committee on Professional Conduct found Ronnie guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Ronnie’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Caused substantial harm to his clients
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Lied to clients regarding small claims court ruling
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Ronnie!)
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to respond to client information inquiries
  • Failed to advise client of status of legal matter
  • Failed to participate in mandatory fee dispute resolution
  • Lied to client that he couldn’t sue for return of unearned fees if he participated in fee dispute program
  • Attempted to charge and collect an illegal or unreasonable fee (thief)

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Ronnie by gifting him with a third complimentary reprimand.

 

Ronnie’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Failed to attend deposition on behalf of client
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to ensure proper service of client’s lawsuit on defendants
  • Lied to client when you said Rule of Professional Conduct did not allow Ronnie to remain as client’s attorney when there is an unpaid bill for legal services

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Committee on Professional Conduct punished Ronnie by gifting him with a third complimentary censure.

 

As we speak (ca. September 2016) Mike practices at 2203 Rhonda Road in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
