Attorney John Riley of Milwaukee; ethical leprechaun
The state of Wisconsin presented John Kenyatta Riley with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from Marquette University Law School.
The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.
In one matter, Johnny took the lead role in representing Brian K. Polk at a hearing on Polk’s petition for reinstatement of his Wisconsin law license. At that hearing, Polk gave false and misleading testimony regarding his employment during the suspension. Specifically, Polk omitted mention of his employment at the firm at which Johnny was also employed. Evidence regarding Polk’s employment was material to the issue of his failure to pay outstanding civil judgments.
Johnny knew at the time of the hearing that Polk’s testimony was patently false; however, he did not take any affirmative measures to remedy the perjured testimony.
As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.
As we speak (ca. September 2016), Johnny practices with Eisenberg Riley & Zimmerman SC at 2228 West Wells Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. |
