Attorney Andy Douglas of Columbus, Ohio; serial tax cheat, ethical gnome

Unfortunately for Ohioans, Andy Douglas succeeded in duping them into electing him as a Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court in 1984. In 2002, Dandy Andy was forced to retire from the Court because he was to damn old (72 years of age).

While sitting on the Supreme Court, Justice Douglas devised a scheme to violate the Ohio Constitution that prohibited judges from receiving any “perks.” The “perks” were luxury autos chosen by each justice for his/her personal use.

Andy the Dufus had the chutzpah to claim that an employer pad luxury vehicle didn’t qualify as a “perk.” Clearly, this Dufus missed his calling as a standup comedian.

Andy’s also conspired with other Justices to assure that they could evade the payment of federal, state and local taxes on the income they earned from their personal use of luxury cars and unlimited fuel provided by the taxpayers of Ohio.

It is estimated that Handy Andy saved at least $35,000 by cheating on his taxes over the course of several years. Isn’t Ohio a great country Andy?

As we speak (ca. Feb 2011) this loser is employed by Crabbe, Brown & James, LLP in Columbus, Ohio, a law firm that clearly isn’t concerned about Andy’s obvious ethical shortcomings.
