Attorney Charles Herbeck of Texas City, TX; scofflaw

The state of Texas presented Charles R. Herbeck with a law license in 1970 after she graduated from South Texas University Law School.

The District 11-A Grievance Committee found Charlie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Revealed confidential client information
  • Neglected client’s representation
  • Counseled witness to testify falsely [subornation of perjury]

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him with a stayed complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Johnny.

Because Attorney Misfits in Texas are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Charlie was never criminally charged with subornation of perjury.

As we speak (ca. September 2016), Charlie practices in Texas City, Texas.
