Attorney Darren Bertin of Gatesville, TX; repeat offender

The state of Texas presented Darren Christopher Bertin with a law license in 1999 after He graduated from Mercer University Law School.

The District Grievance Committee found Darren guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to inform client appeal had been denied
  • Failed to advise client of her right to file petition for discretionary review
  • Failed to respond to client information requests
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Darren!)

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Darren’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received one complimentary suspension of his law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Darren by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. September 2016), Darren is employed by the Coryell County District Attorney’s Office at 702 East Leon Street in Gatesville, Texas.
