Judge Maija Dixon of Rochester, NY; ethical leprechaun

The state of New York presented Maija Dixon with a law license in 1995 after she graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) Law School.

The New York Judicial Inquiry Commission found Judge Dixson guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Used judicial office to advance her private interests in dispute with insurance company
  • Improperly contacted Justice J. Scott Odorisi who was presiding over her case on at least two occasions regarding her lawsuit against her insurer after a car accident she was involved in
  • Continued to contact Judge Odorisi despite his warnings to her to not discuss her case with him
  • Sent Judge Odorisi letter contained substantial information about her case w/o copying insurance lawyers

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Judge Dixon by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. August 2016), Judge Dixon continues to sit as a Rochester City Court judge in Rochester, New York.
