Attorney Steven Pernick of Wilmette, IL; sleazy loser
The state of Illinois presented Steven L. Pernick with a law license in 1973 after he graduated from DePaul University Law School.
The Illinois Registration and Disciplinary Commission found Stevie guilty of the following misconduct.

Stevie represented Ivan Bilic, a German citizen in a criminal case, which after a preliminary hearing was dismissed

After Bilic’s criminal case was dismissed, a dispute over fees arose between Stevie and Bilic

Stevie placed a lien on Bilic’s $3,500 bond after Bilic filed a motion to release the bond money

After placing the lien on Bilic’s bond money, Stevie approached I.N.S. agents and told them Bilic had immigration problems

Stevie’s contact with I.N.S. agents during a hearing to release the $3,500 bond to Bilic led to Bilic’s arrest; however, he was released after it was determined he was in the country legally

Used or revealed a secret of his client know to Stevie without the client’s consent

Used confidential information relating to his representation of Bilic to the disadvantage of Bilic

Asserted or controverted an issue in which the basis for doing so was frivolous [BS]

Used means that had no substantial purpose other than to embarrass or burden a third person

Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice

Used information he gained as an attorney to the detriment of his former client

Improperly claimed entitlement to his client's bond money under the Attorney's Lien Act
As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Illinois Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
As we speak (August 2016), Stevie practices with the Law Offices of Steve Pernick at 1616 Sheridan Avenue in Wilmette, Illinois.
