Today’s “Moron” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Tommy. In the past, he has been the recipient of fifteen (15) Awards in various categories. Those awards are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.

During a recent (mid-July 2016) interview with radio host Steve Malzberg, Tommy said that if Hillary is elected president, the Senate should continue to obstruct the nominating process and refuse to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court left when Justice Scalia died.

Tommy then told Malzberg’s low I.Q. listeners:

• “It doesn’t matter who is president, the Senate can control” which judicial appointees get confirmed.
• “There’s nothing in the Constitution that says you have to have nine justices.”
• “We can go another four years with eight.”

So what Tommy the Moron is telling Sen. Mitch McConnell is to refuse to confirm any Supreme Court nominee if Hillary is elected. Of course this assumes that the Republicans retain control of the Senate in the November 2016 elections.

And if Hillary won two terms, Tommy would be comfortable with no confirmations to the Court for eight (8) years. And then if Sen. Tim Kaine was elected for two terms ending in 2040, and if the GOP still controlled the Senate that would mean no confirmations to the court for the next seventeen (17) years.

It goes without saying by the year 2040, the following justices would either retire or would likely die from old age.

The above table clearly indicates that after two terms of Hillary, that Ginsberg, Bryer and Kennedy would either retire or be carried out of the court in Wooden Robes. That would leave the court with a five (5) justices, three conservatives and 2 liberals. Of course this makeup would be to Tommy’s liking as it would those of his ilk.

However, if Justice Thomas were to retire or die, then the court would be left with only four (4) justices, two conservatives and two liberals. This would mean that nothing would likely get accomplished by the court for the next 8 to 16 years.

And lastly, an obstructionist Republican controlled Senate that refuses to perform its constitutional duty in regards to confirmation of Supreme Court justices is exactly the kind of conduct that has roiled the majority of the population leading up the 2016 presidential election.

Congrats Tommy; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble.
