► Judge Gregory Holder of Tampa, FL; ethical gremlin

The State of Florida presented Gregory Paul Holder 1982 with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Stetson University Law School.

Greg has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the last thirty-five (35) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Tampa area was about to offer him a good paying job.

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission found Judge Holder guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Provided assistance to military veteran Clay Allred arrested on felony charges
  • Wrote letter to President of the University of South Florida that requesting that Allred be readmitted
  • Told University President he could modify Allred’s sentence of probation-like community control that prohibited Mr. Allred from entering upon the university campus
  • Tried to persuade prosecutors to Allow Allred to have “adjudication withheld,” which would have allowed Allred to avoid having the felony on his record if he met certain conditions

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Greg by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. July 2016), Greg continues to sit as a Hillsborough County Circuit Court judge in Tampa, Florida.
