Attorney Theodore Cummings III of Lenoir, NC; serial tax cheat

The state of North Carolina presented Theodore F. Cummings III with a law license in 1978 after he graduated from Wake Forest University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Teddy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Teddy failed to file state individual income tax returns and/or pay state individual income taxes for some or all of sixteen (16) consecutive years. Subsequently, it was determined that Teddy owed the State of North Carolina $81,000.97.

In another matter, Teddy unlawfully failed to file federal individual income tax returns and/or pay individual income taxes for two (2) consecutive years.

Making matters worse is the fact that Teddy failed to cooperate with ethics investigators. In truth, Teddy said, “Up yours!”.

As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Teddy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2015) Teddy practices at 2815 Blowing Rock Blvd in Lenoir, North Carolina.
