Attorney Albert Zarate of DC; convicted shoplifter

The District of Columbia presented Albert R. Zarate with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from the University of Virginia Law School. Doug also received a law license from the District of Columbia in 1990.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Al guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Al entered guilty plea to petit larceny, a misdemeanor, in state court in Virginia. Al’s thievery involved him stealing seven or eight neckties from a Nordstrom’s store.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the DC Court of Appeals Board punished Al by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2016), Al works for the U.S. Department of the Treasury at 2070 Chain Bridge Road in Vienna, Virginia.
