Judge Clarence Seeliger of Decatur, GA; incompetent imbecile

The state of Georgia presented Clarence F. Seeliger with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from Emory University Law School.

It should be noted that Clarence has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past 36 years (1980 to 2016). Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Decatur area was about to offer Clarence a good paying job.

Georgia Ethics Laws mandate that all judges submit an annual financial disclosure statement wherein the report their income, assets and who gave them money for their political campaigns. Failure to so act provides for a mandatory fine of at least $125.00 for each violation.

When Judge Seeliger was informed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he was in violation of the mandatory reporting rules he responded by saying:

• “I was in the wrong. Obviously I should have been more astute about watching these things.”
• “They’re entitled to get that information, I didn’t provide it, so I should pay the penalty, and I paid the penalty.”

This is akin to a convicted rapist saying “I take full responsibility for raping that girl.”

Clarence’s statement is nothing more than an admission that he didn’t much give a damn about complying with the law in regards to filing annual financial disclosure statements.

As we speak (ca. July 2016) Clarence continues to sit as a DeKalb County Superior Court judge in Decatur, Georgia.
