Judge Jaime Roman of Sacramento; Judge Roy Bean Wannabee

FYIJudge Roy Bean was an infamous Justice of the Peace and saloon owner in Texas who called himself the "The Law West of the Pecos." Roy was also affectionately referred to as the Hanging Judge.

The state of California presented Jaime Rene Roman with a law license in 1988 after he graduated from the University of California Hastings Law School.

Former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was duped into appointing Jaime as a Sacramento County Superior Court judge in 1997. Jaime didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the Sacramento area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Commission on Judicial Performance found Jaime guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Abused his authority
  • Violated due process rights of persons appearing before him
  • Illegally ordered individual to incarcerated for contempt
  • Conduct raised appearance of lack of impartiality
  • Improperly awarded a party $59,000 w/o allowing other party to respond
  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Illegally imposed monetary sanction without prior notice

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the California Supreme Court punished Judge Roman by gifting him with a complimentary admonishment

As we speak (ca. June 2016), Jamie continues to sit as a Sacramento County Superior Court judge in Sacramento, California.
