Judge Maija Dixon of Rochester, NY; ethical leprechaun

The state of New York presented Amanda Hathcock Sammons with a law license in 1996 after she graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo Law School.

The New York Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Dixon guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Judge Dixon had the chutzpah to make personal contract on at least two occasions with another judge who was presiding over a case wherein she was the plaintiff. Of course those contacts were made for the specific purpose of garnering favor for her pending lawsuit.

Judge Dixon’s case involved her lawsuit against GEICO General Insurance for personal injuries she claimed to have insurred while sitting in a parked car. She subsequently settled the case for $25,000.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Judicial Commission punished Judge Dixon by gifting her with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. June 2016), Maija remains sitting as a City Court Judge in Rochester, New York.
