Barrister Anthony Banbrook of New Zealand; convict

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Anthony David Banbrook with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Victoria University of Wellington Law School.

The found New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Tony guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Tony was employed to represent investors in the company, National Finance Limited (NFL) that was largely set up to finance the purchase of used cars through various car dealers, which included car dealerships that had common directorships with the NFL itself.

As a result of his employment with the NFL, Tony was convicted of a crime pursuant to the Securities Act of 1978.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the patron saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Disciplinary Tribunal punished Tony by gifting him with a complimentary 7-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2016), Tony practices in Auckland City, New Zealand.
