Judge J.W. Looney of Mena, AR; greedy, lifetime porker

The state of Arkansas presented J.W. Looney with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from the University Missouri Law School.

In December 2014, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe was duped into appointing Looney as a Circuit Court judge. Looney didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Polk County area. He received the appointment because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

J.W. has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the last thirty-one (31) years. It appears that no self-respecting law firm in the Little Rock area was about to offer Looney a good paying job.

The taxpayers of Arkansas are required to pay J.W. an annual salary of $124,000, which of course does not include fringe benefits such as a Cadillac style health insurance plan, etc.

Arkansas law mandates that judges forfeit their retirement benefits if they continue to serve after the term in which they turn 70-years-of-age. Lifetime porker J.W. filed a lawsuit challenging the law by arguing that it was unconstitutional. Put simply, J.W. the Greedy Porker wants to continue to remain on the bench after he reaches 70-years-of age while he also collects a state pension that would likely exceed $100,000 a year.

When does the judicial greed end? If J.W. wishes to continue to pad his bank account, then I suggest he apply for a job as a greeter at the Walmart Supercenter at 600 Highway 71 North in Mena, Arkansas.
