Judge David Berchelmann of San Antonio; arrogant, ethical gnome

Judge Berchelmann has been sitting as a judge in San Antonio from 1981 and has had his snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the lion’s share of his adult life.

In 2006 Judge Berchelmann was sitting as the Administrative Judge for the 37th District Court in San Antonio. During this time the court schedules and calendars of judges were available for public viewing on the court’s web site. Put simply, the public paying the wages of these so-called public servants was readily able to see who was and who wasn’t actually working on any given day.

In a rather lame effort to forever cement his status as an arrogant Il Duce Wannabee (aka, Benito Mussolini), Berchelmann instructed his staff to stop providing court status information listing which courts were out for vacation or for other reasons.

When asked for a comment by San Antonio Express-News reporter Elizabeth Allen, Judge Berchelmann had the chutzpah to say, “The only people who need to know what’s going on among all of us [judges] are all of us [judges.]

Obviously, Il Duce missed his calling as a standup comedian. Apparently, he has total contempt for those hardworking Texans that are forced to pay his underserved salary.

Unfortunately, this certified loser remains on the bench as we speak.
